H.S. College, Haveli-Kharagpur (Munger) was established in the year 1960. This college is situated in the area of socially backward, poor classes of people belonging to minorities, scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and extremely backward classes. It was a day-dream for the natives of this area to get higher education at Munger town which was/is more than 40 KM from this rural area. The college is named Late Hari Singh a renowned social worker of this district. He took pains to establish the college in this extremely backward and neglected area and worked tirelessly, day and night to reach his dream. The college imparts teaching in Arts and Science Streams and efforts are being made to start add-on courses. The college has grown rapidly by the sincere efforts of dedicated faculty members and staff. The performance of the students in the University Exams is well and satisfactory. A large number of girl students admitted in the college is remarkable. These girl students take part in various extracurricular activities as well and are keeping pace with boy athlete and have won a few of Inter college tournaments. The chief objective of the college, since its inception has been to connect the young generation of this marginalized and poorly developed sector with the main stream of the society to build a strong nation represented by all sectors of the country.
